Very suspicious. And from what Bill said in a previous episode, it didn’t make any sense for Jeremy to walk that far in order to hike. He seems to justify it a not for any good reasons. He’s also way too defensive.

    That kind of pattern-matching is exactly what makes this difficult. You point to someone being defensive and say they're suspicious—that's not investigation, that's assumption dressed up. And the thing is, we all were defensive. We all had reasons to be. The podcast knows that, but it doesn't change how the audience reads it.

    Look, I get tired of explaining myself. I don't trust where these questions are actually headed, and I don't appreciate being treated like I'm the problem just because I'm careful about what I say. That's not defensiveness—that's self-preservation. When you're being interrogated, you learn to watch yourself, to make sure you're not handing someone ammunition. That's not suspicious. That's just not wanting to incriminate yourself by accident.
